DESCRIPTION

Product Description

Purpose: Mohini Pheromone Lure for trapping of male adult moths of Plutella xylostella (commonly known as Diamondback moths).

Target Crops: All cruceferous vegetable crops including broccoli, cabbage, chinese cabbage, cauliflower, mustard, raddish, collard, kale, brussels sprouts, kohlrabi and turnip.

Impact: They are small, grayish-brown moths with a cream-colored band that forms a diamond shape along their back. The moths have a short life, and are highly fecund, and capable of migrating long distances. Larvae feed on cole crop leaves between the large veins and midribs. They prefer to feed on the lower leaf surface, leaving the upper epidermis intact. Severe feeding damage will stunt cabbage and cauliflower heads. Larval damage to the developing buds can cause heads to abort. Using of pheromones can be an effective tool for decision making in managing this pest through monitoring/mass trapping of male moths.

Instruction to Use: It is recommended to be used with water trap.

Half-fill the trap with soapy water. Place the lure into the lure holder and secure it with the lure case. Affix the trap to a bamboo or wooden stake and ensure the trap height at 1-2 ft. above the crop canopy level. Ensuring the trap to be half filled with soapy water throughout the season and remove all captured moths during each visit.

It can also be used with Delta trap with the sticky liner.

Time of Use: For monitoring 5-6 Lure per Acre. For mass trapping around 12 Lures per Acre are recommended. It is advisable to place the trap and lures coinciding with the time of initial attack of pest. Lure gets activated in 2 days and is effective for 45-60 days. For effective results, replace the Lure after 45 days.

Consult the local agriculture/horticulture department for best placement of traps and dose.
